Ernest Darkoh, (MD, MPH, MBA) is the Chairman (and a founding partner) of BroadReach Healthcare and internationally recognized expert in healthcare program management, planning, organizational development, and large-scale treatment program implementation. He is widely acclaimed for his leadership provided to Botswana's National Antiretroviral Treatment Program (Masa)– the first public sector HIV/AIDS treatment program in Africa and a program widely regarded as the "proof of concept" model for large scale ARV therapy in Africa. He was recently voted by Time magazine as one of 18 Global Health Heroes and the World Economic Forum selected him as one of the Young Global Leaders for 2006. Dr. Darkoh has served as advisor to numerous governments including Botswana, China, Ethiopia and South Africa in the development of their public and private sector HIV/AIDS programs. Before assuming his role in the treatment program in Botswana, he served as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company in New York and South Africa where he advised Fortune 500 companies on issues of corporate strategy and operational improvement, and assisted governments, multi-lateral agencies and global nonprofits with strategy development and organizational design. He deeply loves the arts and avidly follows the works of African artists.
